I no longer will build out of MDF. All things reasonate and MDF does in a more narrow band causing a drone to notes. Birch plys with natural finish [the poly coat kills much of the benifits] reasonate with a more even frequincy it also releases this stored energy faster than MDF which tends to hold on to the vibration causing time and smearing problems.Sure you can brace the Heck out of MDF to reduce this problem. But I would rather build with the right transducers electric parts and cabinet design and materials then try to make lesser parts and materials work trying to fix problems with materials and design as they come up.
