Audio Note Js: what is your opinion on MDF vs Birch ply cabinets?

I am considering getting some used Audio Note J lexus speakers. I am curious about the switch from the MDF cabs to the all birch ply cabs. How big of a difference did the change from the MDF cabs to the all birch cabs make? I do not doubt there is a difference, or that one would have to squint to appreciate it, but just how big is it? Is it like 2 different speakers? Is the MDF disappointing in comparison?

If anyone is familiar with the two versions, I would very much appreciate your opinions on the two speakers.

Any one familiar with the older MDF speaker, I would appreciate your opinions on the speaker in general.
