I think you'll find RS somewhat guilty about ignoring lesser U.K.musicians at the expense of promoting lesser U.S. ones - although I distinctly remember some funny chemical-assisted reviews of Black Sabbath and TYA.
The NME and Melody Maker of the same era were just as bad about it in the other direction.
