Not sure if he sings in a falsetto or if thats his normal voice but to put it mildly, I don't like it. Before I even knew what the genre was called, either/or prog or stadium rock, I didn't like it.
In my experience there were 2 camps in the 70's. The majority, as could easily be proven by record sales, listened to Boston, Foreigner and others. The other, much smaller camp, listened to music that got little if any radio exposure. At least they got no air play here in eastern Wash. State.
Before punk we were listening to what in Britain was called Pub Rock. Dr. Feelgood, Ducks Deluxe, The Count Bishops, Eddie and the Hotrods and many others. Always seemed to me that this was the beginning of punk in GB. In no particular order or musical type from the same era, Richard Hell, The Sex Pistols, Television, The Ramones, The Clash, Robert Gordon, The Fabalous Thunderbirds, The Ramones, Johnny Thunders, Elvis Costello, Dave Edmunds, Roy Loney... I could go look through my records and find 100's more.
This is not the stuff that is commonly referred to as 70's music, but it's my 70's music.
