Does anyone have any information that explains why there have been no new releases? The monthly Download Series stopped without notice in April with Volume 12, and there hasn't been a new Dick's Picks since Volume 36 was released in the fall. Also no further Vault or video releases since last year. Numerous calls to 800-CAL-DEAD produce nothing but pleasant, yet frustrating, interactions with outsourced personnel who don't have anything to offer on the situation, and emails to GD customer service are unanswered. It all seems very odd because the past decade has seen a pretty predictable schedule of three to six or more releases annually. During 2004-2005 this grew to a virtual avalanche of official releases, and lots of email updates with news and announcements. I realize that this year has seen a lot of turmoil and sorrow on a personal level for the group and the community at large, but that doesn't really explain what appears to be some sort of fundamental change in how the group's music will be presented for sale. Rumors point to bankruptcy and a transition to Rhino Records. If so, why not post a message on the website to let people know? I don't think I'm by myself when I say that I love this music and will pay for the privilege of hearing it given the opportunity.
