... between Young and Stills, at least on the electric guitar, is that Young is a much more "electric" player, making maximum use of feedback and distortion, whereas Stills would tend to play probably twice as many notes/chords as Young. Young was more primordial, Stills a sophisticat!
Of course it was Stills found crawling naked down a hotel corridor about 72/3... whereas one of my strongest memories of Young was a CSNY appearance on the Tom Jones show where with TJ singing with them, Young took a solo which consisted of the same note played over and over and over and over... you get the picture.
