Think I'll get my bricks out out too. The gist of what I was trying to say is the bond between 60's bands and thier fans is stronger and the music and concerts were more of a social force. The stature of the bands greater and the music more timeless. Whereas I think the music of today is generally more cookie cutter and the fans more fickle. I don't feel it will hold up over time. How many records do the red hot chili peppers sell today relative to hendrix or the beatles? The estate of John Lennon made 22 million dollars last year and of course that's without a tour. I talked to a gen X'er today about music and the bands he likes, he said he would not bother to go see the bands he likes 20 or 30 years from now if they came back. Time will tell, but like I said if Cold Play sells out the garden at premium ticket prices 30 or 40 years from now, you can shoot me.
