Re: Which Universal Player would you upgrade?

I've been disappointed with every modded universal player I've heard. All the Denon-based mods make you pay for the gains by accepting something taken away or disturbing overall balance. Better, I think, is the full mod of the Pioneer Elite DV59avi from Reference Audio.

But the solution I arrived at was the excellent NAD Master Series M55 Universal Player. You can leave it alone; forget about modding it. It has discrete chipsets for each audio format, and an audiophile-grade output section. Build quality for the Master Series components is far beyond anything delivered by NAD to date.
