Tangram,
I'm to assume said failure with certain brands or type of banana plugs, was due to the fact that both the Viborg | Monosaudio types are very very nice, yet both seemed to stick out of the rear on both binding post on the amp and speakers about 1/4th of an inch, so they weren't perfectly centered | I've to suspect in some cases due to them only having two points of contact along their length, version say BFA or Locking types which are wider, and as for the latter expands to make actual contact with the innermost parts of said binding post.
Secondly I'm thinking the screw sets are actually pushing the wire aside, split if you'll, and aren't making full contact | whereas I should've cut the wires around an inch each, and doubled them over before screwing them down, looking at the contact screw area within the Furutech FP-202(R) plugs, I'm able to clearly see said screws do in fact make contact with the very bottom of their barrels, whereas with the others, it was as if they could only be screwed down midways before the screws would fall out all together. All this has proven to me is, there are times where just maybe while said banana plugs are meant to measure dimensionally 4mm, some could be around 3.8mm which means they simply are looser than they should be.
I can't speak on whether or not the SCs were initially cooked?, I just felt obligated to inform others of this company's great service | just as much as these simply wonderful sounding SCs which don't cost an arm and leg to own, and more importantly hear.
