Hi All,

As I had purchased a simply wonderful sounding pair of the Kudos Audio KS-1 SCs ( silver plated copper ) around last January | of which I absolutely fell in love with as usual within having played a mere 3-4 tracks and coming away very very very impressed with their overall sense of musicality | sonic abilities as how their easily presented the notes themselves, in a warmish, yet still detailed manner of which is in itself extremely rare to come across said combination in many SCs ( or cables in general ) these days, where one has to understand the flavoring of each component before trying to figure out if they need to pursue cabling with either pure copper?, or pure silver?, or silver plated copper conductors as their primary base metal?, as again " no one size, or better yet..., type does music reproduction justice ) yet in my case, not being one to leave well enough alone, I found myself trying to replace their stock Deltron gold plated brass banana plugs with ones from Monosaudio, said combination was rhodium plated at the amp side of things | red copper on the speaker side, yet upon powering up the amp, I heard a rather weird unexpected cracking type of sound coming from the drivers | as well as noting the left speaker's volume went down by at least 4 dBs as compared to a much fuller and lower sound from the right side.

Weirder still was upon removing these plugs | I noticed that both appeared as if they were fried, I'm talking like an Aliens ( the movie ) chest-busting type effect, which struck me as rather odd, as if the electromagnetic properties of said SCs weren't conductive, and had me pondering what to do?, so I tired several times to back track my steps using different brands and plating of said plugs, and tired crimping the wires the next few times around, which in fact had the same effect.

At the point of nearly giving up hope and just throwing them into the waste basket | my wife recommended contacting the actual company and see if anything could be done?, within a day or two, Simon from Analogue Seduction in the UK, where said SCs were initially purchased wrote me, asking that I ship them to him, so he could look over them, yet within another 2-3 days offered to give me another pair in trade, of which I found somewhat confusing, but by the next morning he has explained he meant to say in exchange, with no cost coming out of my pocket | of which I found as a very very kindhearted gesture | excepted said offer.

Yet upon getting them back within 3 days of them terminating them on my behalf, in which they arrived by DHL moments before typing this, the extra added bonus was they had placed a set of 8 Furutech FP-202(R) angled banana plugs onto them, once again at their cost.

I can't speak for others, but find said customer service as a beautiful gesture, which in turns deserves to be appreciated | recognition be acknowledged for what they're, as I don't ( or haven't ) know of many dealers or actual cabling companies which are kind enough to do this, especially since the mid 80s | early 90s where if something happened to one's component or even cables, the dealers of this period were more eager to offer said customers a loaner for as long as it took, to have said items repaired or replaced all together?.

This pair of SCs cost me a mere $410 | 4M shipped, and has proven to be one, if not?, the greatest discovery I've ever come across | such some of you find yourself looking for something very very very special?, yet within reach of us mere mortals?, look no further. There's a sense of refinement | delicacy | spaciousness | tonality | textural beauty I've never heard in any other pair of SCs I've ever owned " period ".

With the current attitude seeming as if one spends the hard earned money with some dealers, and if something goes wrong with said product which wasn't our fault, upon reaching out to said firm, it's seems as if their phones no longer work, or worst yet they've gone out of business, in my mind we as the customers make said business exist, where customer service shouldn't be neglected on their end, even if many of us can't afford to spend tens of thousands with them, many tapping out around the $20.000-$48.000 price points like myself | yet some wonder why so many of us music lovers ( not that we're being cheap ) in so much as being smarter or more practical how we spend these days, taking into account any of us could be homeless or jobless the next day, logically it's people like Simon that cares and aren't afraid to show they care, that I look forward to doing long term business with, as he ( they ) deserve it.

What say ye?, any similar stories to be shared? | now back to our scheduled program.

To each of you, my sincere hope for a better tomorrow for us all, as there are still a few seasons ( good years ) for us to all bare, provided the Creators sees said extended lifespan appropriate?, as the old adage goes " do onto others...., you know the rest ".
