Re: Really ?

"magnetic wires are commonly not OFHC pure copper"

Are you sure about that?

"how good can be the sound vs 99.9999% OFHC pure copper"

I'm not convinced that a few oxygen atoms makes that much of a difference to the sound. As I said, I think that the surface of the conductor is more important. Adding a coating of some other conductor seems (to my ears) to damage the detail more than a few oxygen atoms - if they're even there at all.

"Have you actually compared technically & sonically ???"

I said that my opinions are based on my listening experiences.

"A silver wires supplier even stated silver oxides forms a protective skin on the pure silver wire & does not affect the sound."

What would you expect a manufacturer would say!?!

"Given so many otber better choics, magnet wires would be my last choice for full spectrum signal transfer as I can't yet find any crucial signal transfer data of those enamals used to coat the maget wries. Why do I want to guess & hope they will work out W/O any technical data to support them????"

If you try it and like it then there's no guessing. I don't want to imply that I have no interest in technical details; that's how I make my living. But my ears have the power of final veto.

Look at it this way: I'll use science to help me understand what I know works well so that I can better predict what else might work well. But it is my opinion that deciding on purely technical grounds (in other words without listening) that OFC must sound better than generic copper is not good science.
