Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

my wire preferences...

Do it right and order a inventory of wire. Teflon wins hands down.
It wont smoke or carry a flame if something goes wrong. It strips nicely, as opposed to PVC which seems like like to stretch and stray.. Further, PTFE wont discolour badly or "retreat" like PVC or RPE at the solder junction so it looks nicer.

I'd order some twisted pair for filament lines... Then get some red 600V rated PTFE for HV. For low level signal, there's no reason not
to use Silver since its only $1.00/foot. If you keep your signal paths short (which is always a good idea), then Silver is like taking multivitamins: probably dont need to, but it feels good to take 'em anyways. :)

I've ordered alot of wire from Handmade (www.hndme.com). They seem to
got the Silver as well as the twister pair for filaments. There are
other vendors to check out too!
