I don't know your speakers so I can't give a direct answer to the question if your amp surpassed them. But if you're looking for a change in speakers then this is what I would do.
Find a good (DIY kit) speaker shop, take a number of your favorite albums and go listen. If you find somthing you like, convince the shop owner that you want to test them at your place with your gear and room conditions. A good shop will let you do that. If at all possible, build the speakers yourself from a kit because it will give you much more for less money.If you can't find a good shop, try to find enthousiasts like yourself in your neighborhood and visit them. Bring over your stuff and compare. If it does not bring you speakers it might bring new friends :-)
