I think you misunderstand what was being said - Mr Pimm (remember, I said I think I read it on his site) did not advocate using 2 se transformers, or starting a revolution. His point was an ideal pp amp operating in deep class a functions as two out of phase se amps. I did the experiments, and in this case, the core saturation issues are no different than any other se amp, an air gap would be required. I am not aware of anyone who advocates this for commercial use.
