(1) I think by all accounts even a non-rechargeable Li cell will last a very long time, and there is no need for using an LED as a warning light, and
(2) your question re battery "noise" also had me thinking about bypassing the battery to ground with a capacitor, yet if you look at schematics where battery bias is depicted, you usually don't see such a bypass cap. So, I assume noise is not much of a problem with a good Li cell. If I am incorrect in this assumption, I would appreciate a comment.
