No hum is no hum, which is always good, but 6GM8 is an indirectly heated triode I believe, so it has a heater rather than a filament. Assuming that hum through the heater is capacitatively coupled, there should be a cancellation effect when the tubes are stacked and the signal comes out mid way between the top and bottom tube.But, I have never had much problem with AC on heaters of indirectly heated triodes. I built a DC supply for IDHTs on my first headphone amp, but later wondered why I had bothered.
