Great question.

Series tube heaters are an excellent practical example of Ohm's Law.

As long as each tube heater draws the same exact current, then you can connect them in series and apply the required voltage to light them up (like Xmas tree lights.)

Many AM desktop radios of the 50's and 60's used the All American-5 tubes in series connected to the 120 VAC mains.

One of two classic lineups are:

12BE6+12BA6+12AV6+50C5+35W4 = 12+12+12+50+35 = 121V

or

12SA7+12SK7+12SQ7+50L6GT+35Z5GT

Also if one or more of the series connected filaments has a different current draw rating, the shunt resistor method suggested here is the way to go.
