yea, i reread my post and it does seem to be more than a tad garbled; sorry about that.it's as tre pointed out more susinctly than i did:

exactly! but you seem to think it'll just muddy it up? you might be correct-but if i don't like the result i can always amuse myself to no end in endless re-soldering...!
you said it's been done before; any ideas on where to find those experiments online? if nothing else, it'll show me what not to do.
