ideas for experiments in extreme tube rolling-help!

I've posted a variation of this on the bottlehead forum but didn't quite get the response i expected; i offer it here for feedback...

a note: this IS going to get done-i just needed feedback on the best way to approach it, and any problems i'll encounter-along with suggestions; maybe mr joppa or the doc would have had an opinion...

so:
here's a cockamamie idea for extreme tube rolling i was toying with on the bottlehead seduction:
if this has been tried before-and I'm sure it has-let me know; i can't seem to find a post for it...

so: you know the old routine of wiring one tube, split for both channels?; instead, how about two tubes per channel-and then splitting the wiring to use one half of each tube per...? how about setting up the seduction that way with the idea of mixing tubes to create a blended sound? (and I'm using the starting assumption that the voltages are compatible and the C-4's are in place...)

what's the point? simply that quite often we tube roll and tube roll and still never find exactly what our ears like in a single tube; this tube has great detail and midrange but no slam; that one has a solid bass and lower mid but it's a tad blah on the highs...?
is it possible to treat all this by insisting it's just like a cooking recipe or a well-blended cocktail and mix the two-or will it turn to mud?

there's probably no real usable result here but the idea just fascinates me; imagine being able to mix tube attributes-it's the closest we'll ever come to making our own from scratch.

OK: I've shot my mouth off-feel free to tell me I'm either wonderful or to crawl back under my sonic rock...
