What exactly do you mean by "caught up"? What do you mean by "wave" in this case? By "wave", could you mean an increase or decrease in electron current density due to audio frequency modulation of the quiescent current density? Where do the second and third polynomial terms enter into your model here? Are you clear on the distinction between static non-linearity that is known to cause harmonic distortion and that which you seem to posit is due to transit time?
