Tapes in my car or home are virtually indistinguishable under NORMAL usage. Critical usage you will find recording issues with CD's! I have a mint CR-7A. I use Vertex, Metal Master, Super Metal Master, MA-XG, SA-XS blanks, and high end ARX9270 decks w/Dolby C in my cars. There are only a few of us left with that kind of hardware!Chris
