The Saki head will certainly wear longer. Ferrite record heads have a tendency to saturate with less record current but you probably already knew this. If you're building or prototyping your own record and play preamps this shouldn't be an issue. If you're trying to using them with a 351 electronics it probably is. The only other issue is the length of the pole pieces on the play head of the faster machines is you want good low frequency response at the higher speeds. Faster speeds mean taller head bump below 100hz uless the head face is wide. Unless you doing something exotic like beamed bias with a cross field head or a focused gap head a la Keith Johnson then pushing the bias to 500khz will yield little except for pumping a lot of current into the head and heating up the tape.
