Hi -When I ran the Saki heads at 30ips, I recall they started rolling off below 25hz and there was a db to a db and a half or so head bump at around 30 hz. When I ran the bias frequency tests, I noted an improvement in SQ all the way up to at least 400khz. Much higher than that I couldn't pump enough bias through the record head to properly bias the tape. For the erase head, I stayed with the 100khz stock bias but made it switchable so that I could record fresh onto bulk erased tape for lower noise.
Not being able to find tape would be a problem. Probably I better scope that out a bit before I commit much more effort to this.
Best wishes,
Tom Dawson
