The article only discussed bandwidth differences with & without a buffer and the large subjective degradation with adding a buffer for wider bandwidth. It was my conjecture about the distortion and I may be assuming too much about Ayre topologies which I believe have simple signal paths with no overall feedback. I was thinking about an amp with no overal feedback and a simple additional source follower as a buffer. This would present a much more linear load to the voltage gain stage and it wouldn't necessarily add any higher order spectra than are already generated. I would expect that to be much better objectively, but I guess it's a case of suck it & see.Regards
