He's talking about the preceeding posts:Ah! Ok. Makes more sense now.
When I popped on this morning, I was in a bit of a rush to get out and finish tearing down a deck before it started getting hot (we're into triple digits this week). When I saw the original post, I assumed that the posts referenced were supposed to be my posts but when I pulled them up I saw that they were Charles' posts and thought he'd mistakenly referenced the wrong posts so I banged out a quick reply saying they weren't my posts and headed out back with the SawzAll figuring that Charles would follow up with the posts I thought he was intending to reference.
As for the first case, I've run the numbers and 5-10 millivolts of DC offset wouldn't be as critical as I thought it might be and will happily concede on that issue.
But my main point was that when it comes to DC offset, you can't look at a speaker like Kurt's in the same light as you'd look at more typical loudspeakers with their voltage sensitivity rarely approaching even 90dB.
And at the same time Charles was saying 5-10mV wouldn't be a problem, he was saying he didn't think even 100mV would be a problem. So from my perspective, it seemed as if Charles considered drivers such as the Lowther and AERs to be no different than your typical loudspeaker.
As for the second, I didn't even bother to read Charles' reply. In his previous post he was pulling the same prejudicial shit that Curl does. Which is perhaps not entirely Charles' fault if John's been filling his head over the phone with the same paranoid delusions about me that he's been posting on the forums here on AA for the past four or five years.
I posted one last message in that thread and gave up on it.
Anyway, I checked with my source and was told that the Charles Hansen from Ayre who called wasn't calling about designing and building amplifiers, but rather parts sources or somesuch. So I apologize for saying it was regarding designing and building amplifiers.
