Greg: I don't think there is any power amp out there that is immune to back EMF/reactive load. Negative feedback or not, all power amps prefer to see a resistive load. To the best of my knowledge, power amps can be designed for inductive load (stepper motors and the like) or capacitive load. Doing both is something that still eludes us as far as I know.
