A191 - Speaking as someone with a viewpoint far, far removed from that of bjh, I also view this as primarily a containment site and one that seems to work reasonably well in limiting the damage of a scientific view on many of the other boards.
Only a lunatic would expect a serious scientific debate on a site designed to be attractive to those that hold beliefs that are often in conflict with the scientific view. Any rational person would go off to a site that was aligned with their interests.

"Subjectivists" come here to sell their viewpoint to "objectivists" and "objectivists" largely do likewise but with the odd technical enquiry thrown in now and again.


I agree with you, but what about the "objectivist" who sees it as pure entertainment? Isn't that why you're here as well?
