Steve, I did measure diode like effects in my wires. You certainly measured some distortion. Though so far I haven't seen any convincing evidence that it was being produced by the wires themselves.
By the way, I talked at length at the AES with Bruno, and we agree that the differences in our test methods most probably made the difference. What was the difference in your test methods? You were both using a 1kHz sinewave as the source stimulus, you were both notching out the fundamental at the other end, and you were both sending the residual to an FFT analyzer.
However, we both found that it was in the GROUND RETURN portion of the cable that the difference in distortion was generated. What difference in distortion? Bruno's measurements, which were measuring some 20dB below where you were able to measure, showed no difference in distortion.
I did not know this at the very first, because I measured the cable assembly as a whole, but after many trials I came to realize this. How are you measuring the cable assembly other than as a whole?
You, with your initial attitude condemning my measurements, made any further communication about my findings a waste of time.My initial attitude wasn't a condemnation of your measurements, it was a questioning of your measurements, as opposed to unquestioningly swallowing them whole as you expect everyone to do.
So here you are, Mr. Formal Education, don't know the difference between a claim and a demand, nor between questioning and condemning.
But you do know how to obfuscate.
So let's get back on track here.
The fact is your claim that Prop Heads was started to save Jon the "bother of dealing with people who DEMANDED that double blind tests be conducted each and every time someone talked about the 'sound' of a cable" is just plain wrong.
Again, Jon was saved that bother with the DBT-Free Zone rule that had been in force on Cable Asylum years before Prop Heads came about.
