Would a DBT be useful in determing which of two things sounded best(e.g, Speaker System A or Speaker System B)? It might be useful, or it might not. Suppose I liked A better than B in sighted listening, switched my preference to B in a blinded test, but returned to a preference for A after resuming sighted listening. If purchasing one of the two speaker systems, assuming they were comparably priced, a reasonable decision would be to buy A. In this case, the DBT might be interesting, but not useful in helping me decide on speakers.
