I am ignorant of the complete list of parts and their functions in a Boeing 747, but that does not prevent me from having confidence that the next one I board will fly.
I am ignorant of how to make an antigravity machine work. You can bet I won't be getting into one, no matter what Geoff and Clark say about how wonderful the trip would be.
