I would thoroughly endorse the Sony R500 (4 motor drive) as I have one and found it to be very good. The panasonic is good too. The benefits of using outboard DA conversion would be negligable, especially as the signal is going to be FM broadcasted (max 15Khz bandwidth I would guess and 50-60db dynamic range if you are lucky!), as for portables the Tascam or the HHB are both good, but I'm not sure of their street price. Have you thought about minidisc? I have used the HHB pro minidisc recorder, and I can vouch for the quality. Again this is more than acceptable for FM broadcast.Roland
