I think the centre would be the centre of the horn mouth. Have a look at Martin Audio's site at www.martin-audio.com/martin1/main.html and follow the links "touring and professional" and "W8L Line Array" for some interesting info on this. They also have a white paper for download. Of interest is the way they use multiple HF drivers on one horn to reduce centre distance.
