Re: 16 tracks of ad/da and an audio interface card?

Yes, it does have adat lightpipe connectivity, which brings me to one of the sources of my confusion. If it's adat light pipe, isn't it limited to 20 bits? I am sure the Hammerfall will be the card I buy, but I still need to be able to record a live rock 'n' roll band in order to capture the dynamic interaction of the musicians, and that will take a minimum, the way I see it, of twelve channels of AD conversion INTO the Hammerfall. By the way, I'm not using a Mackie -- it's an old Auditronics 16 bus 501.
So, what I need is 16 tracks of OUTBOARD ad/da that will connect to the Hammerfall via SPDIF or AES/EBU. The Creamware has the adat I/Os and something called Z-Link but no SPDIF or AES/EBU. So, what ad/da converter to use with the Hammerfall?
