The standard for the ADAT Lightpipe has always been 24 bit. ie. it has always been capable of passing 24 bit if present.Check out RME Multiface. 24/96 8 analog i/o. You would need to run 2.
Very high quality and fantastic support.The older Hammerfall series also offered A/D plug-on cards so you could go that route too. The 96/52 offered 3 ADAT i/o's but you could plug an 8 chan. A/D into two of the ADAT connectors thus replacing an ADAT i/o with an A/D i/o. So you end up with 16 balanced A/D i/o and an ADAT i/o(8 chan) as well as S/PDIF and wordclock.
