You wrote, "One of the things that is different in the MkIII preamps is just a lot more output out of the line section, on account of the new regulation and the new bridge supply transformers. It results in about 12 db more output! Plus the dynamic punch is- -unfettered. I'm not sure how else to put it."Thanks for the info re the cathode Rs. From your statement above, am I correct in thinking that the term "new regulation" refers to new regulation of the HV supply (NOT the LV supply for the circlotron)? Then I also assume that the "new bridge supply transformers" ARE for the circlotron. So in sum the Mk III has new regulators for HV and new transformers for the LV supply, as compared to the Mk II. Correct?
When you talk about the output of the Super Regs, do you refer to voltage or current? Mine are set at 275V and 125mA. What is the HV in the Mk III? Can't go much higher than +/-290V within the limits of the HV power transformer in my unit.
