As Ralph has said over the years--finding tubes quite enough especially for the phono stage is a challenge. If you can find noise free NOS they are better than the Russian and Chinese stuff. I would call Kevin Deal at Upscale Audio or Brendan Beaver and tell them that you need phono stage noise free NOS tubes. Kevin is a Atmasphere dealer and I think he has some Mullards for about $35-45. Nos RCA's (old logo) are very good and I think Brendan should have them. Just tell them that you expect them to be extremely quite and see if they will let you return them if they are not quite enough for you.
