Why don't you call Ralph at Atma-Sphere--I am quite sure he will take care of you regarding tubes for your MP-1. To answer your question if it is necessary to use tube services such as Upscale or Vintage tube services---If you want NOS tubes and you want them to be low noise then you will have to use them. Kevin Deal at Upscale is a Atma-Sphere dealer and his prices are pretty good on the Mullard CV4024. Just let him know what you want and he will supply them for you. But, let him know that you want assurances that they are ultra low noise phono section tubes and if you can return them if they arn't low noise enough for you.
