I just bought an MP-1 MkII with new Chinese 12AT7s recented sourced from Atmasphere, installed in the phono section. There is still objectional tube rush at six clicks and higher on the volume control-- about where I need to be with my .4mV Lyra Helikon. After scanning the archives I'm considering Mullard CV4024 British mil spec or Sylvania Gold Pin 6201 or even new-stock EH. Are the Mullards or the Sylvanias as found at places like Tube Store or Parts Connexion typically low noise, or is it really necessary to pay more for screening services by sources like Upscale or Vintage Tube Services? Do the new-stock EHs sound any good & and are they quiet? Thanks,
Dave
