Ralph, I yield to your superior knowledge and understanding of the circuit, but I think it's fair to say that the Prodigy amps were and the Transcendent amps are every bit as stable and reliable as those Julius made himself. Moreover, many of the Futterman-like amplifiers that have given the design a bad name were modifications of the basic idea that may have increased the level of instability, e.g., the Counterpoint SA4 and the KSS amps, to name only two. However, it was always said that Julius alone knew the secret recipe for the power transformers. I remember being in his loft on 72nd St in NYC and seeing nascent transformers hanging in the air over a vat of something that gave off fumes. I love the smell of PCBs in the morning.
