It sounds like the traditional explanations of the limits of the amplifier have worn thin over the years, especially in the face of the advances you seem to be contributing to it. Good Going!We have been playing around with the Tesla tube which is an interesting varient as it has no plate cap and uses an octal base! Also the KT-99 looks interesting as it is actaully a varient of the EL509 also and supports very large current spikes. We built a prototype running the amp but so far have found it inefficient (not that odd given how much power a pair of the tubes can make with an output transformer...).
