No doubt the Wilson 5.1s are capable of much greater dynamic range than the Quads, and even more than the A-3s. I too don't care for the Wilson's characteristic sound either. The Quad and especially the A-3 is much more realistic, IMHO. I'm sorry to hear you missed your chance with the A-3s. I hope another pair will surface soon.
