As a new owner, I'm a bit hesitant to comment because I've only been using these for about a month, and it's winter. But, I had the same concern so I'll chime in anyway. I have MA-2's. They live in our listening room right next to the speakers. The room is 14 x 18 x 8, but opens onto another room through a 6'-wide archway at the end opposite the speakers. So far, the heat build-up during all-day playing is FAR LESS than I expected. The MA-2's warm the room a bit over the course of a day, but over 3-4 hours heat build-up barely noticeable, except right in the area near the amplifiers. Since the amps are right next to the speakers, we were concerned about heat build-up next to the wood veneer finish, so we've monitored with a thermometer. Even at the speaker position right next to the amps, the temperature has only gone up by 4 degrees over 4-6 hours playing time. In the rest of the room, you can tell a very much more modest difference. Walking into the room, one can occasionally feel a bit of a warm draft from shifting air currents. From my listening chair, I can hardly tell a thing - there might be a 2 degree change in temperature overall.I'm in Virginia. Outside temperatures have been in the 40-50's. And, I will confess we keep our house on the decidedly cool side. As we move further into the spring, we may find that air conditioning season kicks in a bit earlier than other years, though! But, seriously, my wife and I have not seen enough heat build-up to cause us significant concern except for those days we know we will have in July and August when the temperature stays in the mid- to high-90's.
