hey doug,

how efficient are those speakers? My gut feel is a nice well balanced simple low power SET would be golden with them. I'm thinking start with a simple 6J5 IT coupled to a globe 45 with something like a H5S OT. (the ones joeseph had in his 71A amp) Maybe even try some PP iron (if handy) pressed into SE use. Your speakers are crystal clear, so your amp needs to add a little tone to account for long term familiarity / annoyances that show up after the honeymoon is over. Then you can forget about the system and listen to the music.

just some thoughts. (and apologies to JJ for stealing his "tone" approach.)
