Some SACD players (here I am aware of at least two, the Cayin SCD-50T and Cary 306, both stereo SACD players) do offer the option to downmix the mch tracks to 2-channels. In the Cayin, I did not care for the resulting sound. I haven't even tried that yet on my Cary 306. As to HOW the machines actually do this I do not know for sure but I suspect they just blend the two rear channels with the respective front left and right channels and then add the center and sub channels eqaully to both.
