I got a Mercury sacd (the one with "russian easter overture")and an RCA saint sans Organ symphony number 3 over the weekend. Both are excellent. The Organ symphony beat my white dog Lp and my classic records reissue. I would one day like to hear a real "shaded dog" of it. The merc was a real improvement over the original cd issue, alot of the extra brightness the cd had is gone. I only hear a ping pong effect if I don't select the stereo sacd layer (I use 2 channel set up). The stage has solid center in stereo, but I could'nt comment on the 3 channel mix. The care and attention that went into the original recordings and the mastering of these discs is admirable. I am happy with these and will get a few more. Thanks for the advice and suggestions.
