I don't have any big disagreements with the post on Vinyl Asylum. I held onto my LPs and am still adding to them. However, the comparison was only made between LPs and RBCDs. Live sound in the concert hall should have been added, along with SACDs and DVD-Audio, and even reel to reel tape. I hear the deficiencies in 44.1 Hz CDs. SACDs and DVD-Audio are better and lessen the gap between digital and analogue. I think what wows listener with CDs on many systems is the quiet background and the ability to play really loud and project certain sounds through the orchestral texture. Frequent visits to live music venues are necessary to remind our ears what is accurate.
