While my multi-channel system does not adhere lock step to "proper same five speaker setup" (I think it exceeds those requirements) there is nothing HT about. For one thing there is no television in the room. But if I do add a monitor (and I may in the future) the system will still be a SACD multi-channel system that with the addition of a DVD player could also be used to watch movies. I will not move or compromise current speaker placement to accommodate a TV. A monitor would be wall mounted above and about 7 feet behind the front speakers. Then as now there would be no .1 or bass management in the equation.
