HowdyIt's been a while since I posted.
I still enjoy and use a MC system with (essentially) matched speakers, amps, etc. on the ITU circle.
Everyone who visits (even die-hard 2 channel fans) appreciate the extra sound stage depth and immersive qualities you can get with MC. There are certainly some SACDs which remind you of the old ping-pong stereo but with more channels, but there are also many great recordings which sound much worse in 2 channel, e.g. "Why is the audience clapping in front of me?"
For HT use, I have a separate processor for DTS, DD, etc., but even there I've always preferred careful speaker placement to the sound of the processing used to set levels, adjust for speaker distance, etc.
