I have an old SCD-1, for which I paid over 3K. I have a much much older turntable setup. I have many SACDs. And many LPs. Now certainly most LPs are not good sounding. But at its best, the LPs on my system clearly outshine the SACDs. I have a 45 RPM Classic Records release of Mingus Ah Um. I also have the SACD. The 45 RPM is in a different galaxy. In some cases, for instance, some of the Dylan releases, I find the LP I have inferior to the SACD. But those are just basically mediocre LPs compared to superb SACDs. Comparing best to best, LP is the easy winner for me.
