I totally agree with your observations

My Yamaha universal did a superb job of mixing the 24 Bit 96kHz multi-channel DVD-Audio program to 2-channel DVD-Audio. I only compared the first song and the differences between the CD and DVD-Audio was night and day.

Also check out the DVD-Audio of Fresh Aire 8, it has a real 2-channel 24/96 program and comes with a bonus HDCD, the DVD-Audio completely destroys the HDCD even when HDCD decoded!

If more people were exposed to these differences maybe high resolution will take off. Hopefully the Beatles Love will help with this cause.
